Golden Globes

Yesterday the Golden Globes took place in LA and to be honest I found the red carpet quite disappointing. People I thought where going to impress didn't and I just found some of the choices really predictable. But considering that here is my list of best dressed:

Coolest looks EVER!

If these are not the coolest looks you have seen in a long time I don't know which ones are. I love them specially Emma Stone's suit. Now you know if you want to give me a present this Gucci suit would be the perfect buy.

Transitions

Well after a much needed break back at home I came back to London to finish my first year in order to be able to apply and transfer to NY. I have to admit that it has been a rough transition and the first couple of days have been really hard. Don't worry though I'm sure I'll be fine and I'll be really busy so everything is ok. On thing that made me happy was listening to this song so here it is:

First perspective of my Parsons Project

This is the first thing I did for my Parsons project. Using a small frame of The Virgen of Guadalupe I created a pritn which I used to make some lamps, which represent mexican lifestyle. Mexican culture is a mixture of Spanish culture and the traditional indian culture which through out the years has manage to become one, combining the consevative aspects of Spanish culture with the lively and creative traditions of our ancestors the Aztecs and Mayans, etc. It is something that we still carry out in our everyday life and we continue to develop to create new things and new ideas. Some of the brands that are doing it nowadays are: Pineda Covalin, Daniel Espionza, etc.

Healthy New Year

This is for everyone out there that wants to start the eyar being healthy and that needs a break from all the greasy and fattening food that we had for this holidays. There is a time for everything and the time of eating everything in sight is over so here I'm posting a chicken soup recipe that is both healthy and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley leaves, stems reserved
  • 5 whole black peppercorns
  • 1 dried bay leaf
  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 pound parsnips, peeled and cut crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 to 2 medium onions, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 (4-pound) chicken, rinsed
  • Coarse salt

Directions

  1. Tie parsley stems together using kitchen twine. Prepare a bouquet garni: Place peppercorns, bay leaf, thyme, and garlic in a 5-by-5-inch piece of cheesecloth; tie to enclose using kitchen twine.
  2. In a large pot, combine parsley stems, bouquet garni, carrots, parsnips, onions, and chicken, breast-side down. Add enough water to cover; season with salt. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce to a simmer, and cook, partially covered, until chicken is cooked through, about 45 minutes. Skim any foam that rises to the top and discard.
  3. Remove chicken from pot, and let stand until cool enough to handle. Skim fat from surface of soup, if desired, and discard. Remove and discard parsley stems and bouquet garni. Remove meat from bones; discard skin and bones. Shred meat into bite-size pieces, and return to pot. Cook until heated through; season with salt. Serve garnished with chopped parsley

Happy New Year!

So the New Year has started and with it all of our new resolutions. I have to admit I had an amazing although very quiet New Years and I got to appreciate my entire family and our traditions. We did the traditional viejo to which I will post a video very soon and had the amazing dinner and of course the very lazy and full of food Januray 1st. Now the week has started and it is a very good day to go back to the old routines and start with the changes that you planed for this year.

My resolutions for this year are:
  • Keep up with the healthy eating and working out
  • Finish my applications for Parsons and hopefully getting in
  • Enjoy my last months in London
  • Visit Paris and Italy
  • Save money and maybe get an other job
  • Try to get an agent and start looking for acting jobs
  • Next year not eating so much lemon pie during New Year to not have this horrible stomach pains(totally worth it though :D
I think that's it for now and I'm sure that they will be changing during the year but I think is a good start.
Anyway just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year and lots of success for this 2012.
