Day around London

So today I went to spend the day with Philippa. She was a really close friend of my grandmother and I met her last year when my mum came to visit me. We go out every now and then and I love it because not only does she spoil me but she takes me around London and I go to new places that I have never been before. She is really funny and I can only imagine how much fun she and my grandma must have had.

First I met her in her house near East Putney which is kind of far from where I live but is a nice village to visit because is not too full of people and is very quiet and interesting.
We went to have lunch to this pub called "The Telegraph" and let me tell you....don't judge a book by it's cover. I thought it was going to be hideous english food, but I was truly surprised!!! It was the best food I have had in ages. I would make the trip every weekend if it means I can go have such a wonderful lunch again.

I had a goat cheese tart to start which was sooooo good and then a hamburguer with chips. The meat was perfectly cooked, juicy and delicious and the chips where amazing! Philippa had squid as a starter which looked quite good and then a chicken with sweet sauce which looked amazing!! The desserts looked really good specially the apple and pear crumble but I was too full to even think about it.
Afterwards we went to Kensigton Palace, which was reopened only 3 weeks ago and the exhibitions are quite good. Specially if you are interested in English Royalty.

Back in London!

A few things I need to talk about. First I would like to apologize because my last post was half in English and half in Spanish, I guess I wasn't concentrated enough. Let's just call it multi-cultural and hopefully you will enjoy it anyway.

I am back in London after a much needed break and with new energy and new goals. First I decided to take action about the things I'm not happy about(I won't bore you with details) but I decided to try to find and internship in NY or Mexico for this summer because I think London is not good for me at the moment. I plan to go to Paris, Italy and Germany one last time before going back tough and trust me i will tell you all about my trips. I plan to finish school-work as soon as possible because I don't feel motivated with the programm and I think is having a bad effect on my creative skills and health(notthing to serious tough). While I finish I plan to focus on work so I will keep my job with Aberdeen Company and if I can look for a job on the weekend in La Lupita or some similar restaurant.

The first thing I decided to do to keep me focused and positive is to try to go to the theatre and always remind myself that what I am doing right now even if is not a hundred percent pleasant is beneficial for my future goals.
This weekend I applied for several internships and I also have some recommendations of things I did and read that helped me.

First I have to talk about a play called Master Class. It's an amazing production that you can find at the Vaudeville Theatre in London. Is the story of Maria Callas played in a very interesting and dynamic way. If you are in London or if you have the play near you please do go and see it.

And also the book called A Place of Yes by Bethenny Frankel. For all of us out there that are feeling a bit insecure about the decisions we have made or the path we are taking please do read this book it will help you go trough it and also learn how to deal with a lot of things that might keep us from doing what we are supposed to do with our lifes.

Coatzacoalcos

So for my last week in Mexico we decided to go to Coatzacoalcos, which is a small city in Mexico near Veracruz where my mum and my uncles grew up. Is always nice to go and have some relaxing time and see all my cousins and family that I don't get to see during the year.
The only dangerous thing about Coatza is that you relax a bit too much and also that the food is amazing so it was good we only went there for 3 days otherwise I would be obsese by now hahahaha.

One of the things I like is that people go to their one speed in Coatza, if you want you can wake up early go for a run and then relax tanning by the pool. But you can also wake up late, have a nice late breakfast and then go walk in the afternoon to the beach. Lots of opportunities.

I'm going to put a list of the things I ate this week there, which are traditional dishes and the recipes so you can try them too. Trust me they are totally worth it.

Platanos fritos rellenos
